It was great to have some fun in the hall this morning – we needed a laugh and a boogie after the shocking weather this week!

Check below for the important End of Year Dates. There’s a lot happening, and it’s such a busy time of the year for everyone, so we like to advise of these events early. If your child is receiving an award at either Prizegiving (Whole School), or Awards Ceremony (Yr 4 – 6, includes Yr 6 Graduation certificates), you will be told well in advance.

Ngā mihi,

Covid Cases

We are just starting to see a number of cases of covid coming through the school. Nobody wants to be sick, but particularly at this time of the year, and especially our staff, because we are really struggling to find enough available relievers right now (people get snapped up in Term 4), and are trying to avoid splitting classes. Please don’t be offended if you are asked to collect your child who is presenting as unwell.

The current regulations that schools have to follow state that there is no requirement for people to “test” for covid, nor is there a requirement that people isolate, although it is recommended as any illness. There is no requirement to advise us if you have covid either, but if you can if it’s easier for you to advise of multiple days of absence in one go. We have been asked by some parents for RAT tests, so they can manage illness in their own homes, and these are available from the office if you would like them.

SBS PTA Disco – Next Friday 10 November 6:00pm – 7:30pm

He’s back! DJ Triple M has just touched down from the European Rave Circuit and will be at SBS to DJ our PTA Disco next Friday! Unfortunately Mr Morley can’t attend that night – one day it will be nice to have the twins here together.

  • gold coin entry
  • please, only current SBS students & pre-school siblings will be admitted. No older siblings or friends.
  • parents & caregivers welcome (encouraged for Year 0/1)
  • students MUST be picked up from INSIDE the hall at 7:30pm

Calling all Crafters!

Calling all crafters! We are looking for people keen to have a craft stall at our Christmas Carols this year. Featuring our Junior and Senior School Kapa Haka Roopu’s, and our School Choir, supported by a live band of local superstars. Keen for a stall? Email admin@snellsbeach.school.nz with your name, contact details and brief description of your stall, or drop into our office.

Book Fair and Character Parade Fun

Once again our book fair was extremely successful, and we had some really positive feedback to the comparative prices. Our school receives a percentage of sales, with which we can purchase books for our Library from across the Scholastic range (not just those titles at the fair). It’s a fantastic way of keeping interesting new reads coming into our school library. With the terrible weather today, it was great to have some fun and a bit of a boogie at the Parade this morning.

Run for ADHD & Help Charlie Raise $1000
