Tēnā Koutou, Talofa Lava, Malo e Lelei, Namaste, Ni sa bula, Noaia’e mauri, Fakalofa lahi atu, Kia Orana, Ni Hao, An Nyung Ha Sai Yo, Nay Ho, Hej, Hallo, Sawat Dee, Cześć, Goeie Dag, សួស្តី, Здравствуйте, hola. Greetings to our school families.

Before you know it it is the end of the term. Thank you so much for all the support for our Walkathon on Wednesday. Our children did so well keeping up the energy and enthusiasm for the entire afternoon. Please help your children chase up their sponsors. Well done to our PTA and for all the parents who donated baked goods. They were able to raise an extra $1200 after expenses on the day.

As we go into the holidays make sure you take time to relax and spend some quality time with family and friends. With my other hat on, with the change to daylight saving, please ensure you have working smoke alarms in your houses. It is a firefighters worst nightmare if they turn up to a house on fire with persons reported due to them not evacuating. Remember to have an escape plan and a safe meeting place. Your Year 0-2’s will be revisiting this in Term 4 so they will also be reminding you.

Noho ora mai

Stay well, look after yourself, good bye.

Travelwise Week

What fun we have had this week celebrating Travelwise Week with our students and parents. Starting the week with the “Big Walk to School” followed by our wonderful Walkathon, and rocking out in style with the Fancy Feet parade this morning! This week has been all about emphasizing  healthy and environmentally friendly ways to get to school and having a whole heap of fun in the process! Here are some photos from the week:

Miracle Berries in Puriri 1

Puriri 1, having braved eating bugs such as crickets and mealworms earlier this year with Mr Chapman, took their next taste challenge, trying the appropriately named Miracle Berries! These berries briefly block the sour and bitter taste receptors of the tongue, so ordinarily sour foods like lemon taste super sweet instead. They happily ate lemons, grapefruit, limes, and other assorted sour and bitter foodstuffs as part of the experiment; an unusual way of getting children to eat their fruit!

Milk bottle lids needed

We are making some resources for literacy and please need plastic milk/cream bottle lids of any colour. Please save them up and drop to the office.

Meditation Classes

Some of our parents may need this class during the holidays! So take some time for yourself and contact Laura for more information.
