Rationale: Because valuable learning occurs outside the classroom, group, class or school visits are needed to expand the opportunities available for social, academic, sporting and cultural development appropriate to the age level.

School Swimming Programme Junior Classes at Snells Beach School complete at Water Confidence Programme. We make use of our wonderful location, and these sessions take place in the safe waters of Snells Beach. Our middle school undertake a course of specific swimming instruction. Senior students comoplete a programme of Water Safety Skills, including a Surf Lifesaving component, held at the Omaha Beach Surf Lifesaving Club.

Camp Tongariro Our Year 6 students travel to Tongariro National Park for a four day camp. Activities include Taupo High Ropes Confidence Course, Caving, Tramping and of course fun in the snow!

Local Environment Since June 2009, the school has been working with the ARC on a "piece of the park" - an area at Scandrett Regional Park which will be planted and cared for by Snells Beach School for years to come. Not just learning "about" the environment, but getting our hands dirty!
