• Our school & grounds have been specifically designed with a "Green Star" rating to fit into our unique location and have minimum environmental impact.
• We will be actively involved in planting programmes.
• As part of our relationship with Scandrett Regional Park, our students are involved in seed collection, propagation of seedlings (including visits to both the Botanical Gardens and Wenderholm) and the replanting of native seedlings once they are established.
• Snells Beach School is currently growing an edible garden - please let us know if you are able to share your expertise in this area!
• Our school has been generously offered assistance by Tumbleweed in Matakana to establish a school orchard, in conjunction with our edible garden. Tumbleweed will be offering free classes in orchard and plant care to parents, pupils, teachers and friends who are interested in assisting with our gardens.
